So imagine this, it's night and you're just about to go to sleep after a busy-yet-ordinary day. You may have had a shit day at the office, or perhaps a tiring day at school, it doesn't matter. You're tired and you just want to go to bed, you can feel your energy leaving your body, your will leaving you body as it becomes more and more clear you need to rest. You start to close your eyes, and you begin to fade away. As your eyes close, you can see the room twisting and turning, you tell yourself you must be tired. As the room begins to twist and swirl, it becomes a blinding red, just as you begin to question just what's going on, you fade. Everything goes to black. And then, you awaken.

You find yourself in what reminds you of a government building, like when you're waiting for your chance to get your driver's license or a new ID, you sit down, there are others sitting down next to you. You try to speak to them, ask them where you are, but no matter how you will it, you cannot open your mouth. You try and try but in the end your efforts are fruitless. So you sit there, stand there, pace around, whatever it takes to pass the time... you can hear the name's of the people sitting with you be called, and in response they stand up and walk through a single door at the front of the room, never to return. It feels like a century before your name is called, and without a choice, you walk into the room just like the rest of them. And then you find yourself in a completely different room, the door you once passed through is gone. It's an office, it's plain, boring, without a single decoration on the walls. There's just a desk, a chair across from it, and at the desk is a peculiar individual. A tall, lanky male wearing a rather cheap Bela Lugosi styled Dracula costume. You could swear it was just something he bought off Party City. He's smoking heavily, with the room practically choking from the exhaust of the man's cigarette. He puts a pair of glasses on, the glasses themselves seem cheap and worn out, as they are kept together by tape and covered in what seemed to be smudges of Buffalo sauce. He clears his throat, looks to you, then looks down to his desk, pulling a file from a drawer in said desk. He opens it, there are pictures of you along with your birth certificate, criminal record (if any), and pretty much any other pieces of paperwork that would divulge information about yourself, regardless if anyone other than yourself should have it or not. Looking to you, the man begins to ask questions, but you can't answer, or at least you don't remember answering him. Eventually, after what seemed to be a VERY one-sided interview, the man exclaims "Alright, I believe you're the perfect fit! Welcome to your new home!" and then the room just dissolves around you, the man, his desk, and the chair you were probably sitting on all soon dissolve as well. Welcome to Terra Mortis.

You find yourself alone and stranded in a land known as "Terra Mortis", it is the physical manifestation of humanity's collective fears. It is a hostile and deadly world, do not mistake this for a dream world, if you were to die here, it'd be just like dying anywhere else. To call Terra Mortis a dog-eat-dog world would be an understatement. It is, simply put, every horror movie ever put together mixed with the surreal logic and nature of Wonderland. It is so filled with evil, where the strong prey on the weak, that to say that any semblance of morality exists here on a large scale would be a lie. The denizens of Terra Mortis are known as "Horrors", and as you will find out many of them live up to that name. Incredible technology and amazing magic exists in this world, but all is corrupted in the land of Terra Mortis. No matter how good-natured something may seem, it somehow finds a way to go horribly wrong here. The weak, which are in many ways no different from humans, are routinely hunted down by the greater and more powerful horrors.

As an ordinary human in Terra Mortis, you are virtually indistinguishable from the victims that most Horrors routinely murder on a daily basis, as such, you are going to have a VERY, VERY hard time surviving here. However, there is slight hope, or possible doom, depending on how lucky you are. While being interviewed, for lack of a better word, the interviewer mentioned that you had a particular tie to someone in this world. That's the only clue you have, but in truth there's much more than that. When you arrive at Terra Mortis, you will find yourself drawn by destiny to the Horror that you are tied to. You will soon learn that you and the Horror both feel pain, and that if you die, so does the Horror. You are not alone in your struggle to survive in this land... of you are also now tied to a being whose morality and general existence is a complete enigma.

〖ＨｏｒｒｏｒｓａｎｄＨｕｍａｎｓ〗

The "connection" between the humans and the Horrors is known as the "Blood Tie", the Blood Tie means that the Horror and human are, for better or worse, tied together and CANNOT kill each other... sort of. If the human dies, the Horror will permanently die. Pain is shared between the human and Horror, however the wounds do not, just the pain of the wound. If a Horror loses its arm, the human will feel the same pain as the Horror, and vice versa. However, the Horror dying will not necessarily mean that the human dies. You see... death is a very tenuous element of Terra Mortis. Depending on just how powerful the Horror is, the human may not die. Just as a horror movie monster seems to always come back for the sequel, Horrors have a habit of coming back spontaneously, sometimes after a long period of time. Oftentimes, when a Horror dies and comes back, he/she will be drastically altered (remakes!). However... if the human dies in the time it takes for the Horror to come back, the Horror won't be able to revive, as they too will be permanently dead. A quick note: the human WILL feel the pain the Horror experienced when they died... without actually dying...

〖ＴｅｒｒａＭｏｒｔｉｓ〗

The region of Terra Mortis this RP will be restrained to is known as "Havoc". Havoc is actually located on the outer rims of Terra Mortis' main continent. The region itself is separated into smaller parts, which will be described in this section.

〖Ｂｒａｖｅｐｏｒｔ〗

Braveport was once a quaint little fishing village, it was too isolated and too small to really get the attention of any of the larger threats in Havoc. Braveport was run down, it had a fair amount of crime, and it had it's skeletons in the closet... but compared to the rest of Terra Mortis, it was peaceful. They managed to survive by staying isolated and away from other settlements, they survived by fishing, over the generations the folks of Braveport would become exceptional fishers and sailors, managing to outwit and outrun any dangers that lurked in the waters surrounding Terra Mortis. They had managed to survive for so long, that was until one faithful night where a fisher boat would return and all hell would break loose. It returned and with it, a massive fog did as well. At first, the boat seemed empty. The boat was inspected, the entire crew seemed to have disappeared. Eventually however, the bodies of the crew were found. They were gathered up in the lower parts of the hull, their bodies bloated and pulsing. Their corpses had been used as vessels for the offspring of some strange species. The bodies soon began to rise, mutated by whatever had infested their body, attacking the inspectors. As the fog continued to overcome Braveport, strange beings known as "Draugr" began to rise from the ocean. Using the dead as hosts, they would infect their host body and mutate them into killing machines, murdering anything in sight. Braveport's survivors are now desperately fighting for their lives, locked up in city hall in search of a way to escape Braveport.

〖Ｈｏｍｅｓｔｅａｄ〗

Much like Braveport, Homestead was another isolated settlement that had avoided the ire of the larger threats in the region. It was a small country town, with farms, barns, and old-fashioned country values. Homestead seemed to be even safer than Braveport, save for the murderous family of chainsaw cannibal psychos known as the "Harper Family" whom murdered and ate any outsiders that happened to find Homestead. On the bright side, they also protected the town from outside threats, so the people of Homestead never had a problem with them. Everything stayed in the status quo, that was, until a meteor would crash into the outskirts of Homestead one night. From it, all matter of strange creature would emerge. They were monstrous tentacle creatures, beings from another earth that irradiated the land around them. The earth began to be corrupted by the extraterrestrial presence, as it grew more and more alien by the day. However, unlike Braveport, the people of Homestead weren't going to let their home go to hell. The Harper Family were the first to meet the aliens in battle, and soon after the other residents of Homestead would find the nearest shotguns and assist them. Homestead has now become the sight for a war between extraterrestrials and murderous rednecks.

〖Ｎｅｃｒｏｌｌｉｃａ〗

Necrollica, otherwise known as the "City of Rock" is the center of music for Terra Mortis, specifically rock and roll. This is a city filled with denizens that wouldn't feel out of place on a Death Metal album cover. It's filled with the dead, sorcerers that invoke dark magic through music, and generally just really freaky looking people. Just about everything runs off the power of music, knowing how to play a guitar is essential to living a life here. At first, Necollica doesn't actually sound too bad, it's denizens do look bizarre and morbid, but they're simply music lovers. However, the city is run by dark sorcerers. Unfortunately, Necrollica's sorcerers are subservient to a demon known as "Berial" whom gives them their power. Berial demands human sacrifices, often preceded by long torture sessions to appease him. As such, Necrollica's sorcerers along with their servants are often scouring the city and it's outskirts in search of potential sacrifices for their lord Berial. The worst part is, the city is growing in power, as is lord Berial, only time will tell if Terra Mortis will have a new rising power soon in the form of Necrollica.

〖Ｔｅｒｍｉｎａ〗

Termina is the most peaceful part of the region, and most likely the first area the humans will come across once they enter Terra Mortis. Termina was a huge city, once it was one of Havoc's most peaceful settlements. However, though peaceful, it has a large pollution problem which seemed to poison the air around it and the surrounding areas. Now, the environment has grown so poison and toxic that it rains acid, deadly acid. The rain eats at the buildings, leaving the city a decaying mess. Society has fallen apart, with everyone just trying to survive, scouring the city for food and water. Many were horribly scarred and mutilated by the acid rain, leaving much of the populace with a horrifying visage. Many went insane and have begun to attack anyone on sight. And recently, with Termina growing more and more weak, it's begun to attract the attention of stronger Horrors.

〖Ｈａｖｅｎ〗

Haven is the last hope in all of Havoc, the Denizens of Haven have managed to keep the Draugr, aliens, sorcerers, undead, and just about everything outside its massive walls. Protected by large metal walls and a high-tech military, Haven is a symbol of hope in a land of despair. However, because of its strict nature in order to keep dangers outside Haven's walls, it's even more isolated than the rest of the settlements in Havoc. The most people hear from it are radio signals, often to its neighbor city Termina. Recently though, Haven's been completely quiet, and its cut off all contact with the outside world. Any attempts at contacting Haven have been futile, and everyone has begun to wonder: What's happening in Haven...?

Hunter steadily thumped forward over a desolate hill, the sky was as black as could be, with nary a star in the sky, the moon was brightly lit and crimson, the sound of distant screams could be heard. After a few days of travel, Hunter had begun to question the existence of Haven. A supposed beacon of light in a world that had fallen into a pit of darkness. He had heard tales of it far and wide in Terra Mortis, and he was almost there, he could feel it. Finally reaching the peak of the hill, Hunter looked to the horizon, witnessing the decayed skylines of Termina. Once a peaceful city... it had fallen to chaos due to it's own negligence. It was now filled with all matter of scarred individuals, they had turned to horrific mutants by this point, as far as he saw, and soon after their visages turned to horror, so too did their inner selves. They were beyond saving now, he could hear the sounds of screams and moans coming from the lost metropolis. Hunter's parrot Spirit suddenly returned to Hunter, perching on his shoulder as he stared down at the lost city "Almost there..." he muttered to himself "Just a few more cities to cross..."

Behind Thomas, appearing for a moment was a girl with a tired look. She wore black with accents of white, and was quite pale looking herself. She appeared almost transparent. She watched Thomas silently, before looking to the screams down below. "I don't see the point..." she said before appearing in a more physical form, no longer see through. "Why look for that fantasy? You know it's going to end in disappointment... Like this place." she said as she looked at Termina. "Actually some good might come from it. I think one of my things is in there." Isabel said as she looked closer with a little smile on her face.

Spirit flew off Hunter's shoulder, flying back into the air as the man still looked to the city "That's why I'm here Isabel..." Hunter spoke in response to the small girl "I'm having way too much fun playing the good guy here after all..." the man spoke as he broke out with a smile. Something about his smile was off-putting, this guy, he did aspire to be a hero of sorts in a land like this, but it was purely for self-serving reasons. But one would suppose that in a place like Terra Mortis, that was better than being a heartless killer. The man actually turned away from the city, there wasn't much reason to go into it, not yet, that was, until Isabel spoke once more. The man's eyes narrowed as he suddenly turned to look at her "Are you saying one of your belongings is in Termina...?" he asked "Or are we talking Haven...?" Haven, he truly did wonder what he could make of it. For better or worse, he knew that was his next destination, if he could find it.

"I know, I know..." Isabel said as she floated and circled her arms around his neck. Thomas would feel the chill, but Isabel would do this often with him, pretend that she was riding on his back like she was alive again. "What do you mean play? You ARE a hero Thomas. Your my hero even if no one else thinks you are." She didn't find his smile off-putting, in fact she gave him a smile back that could be just as chilling. "In Termina. I don't know about Haven yet, but this is the closest I ever felt into finding my 'artifacts'. And you know what that means..." Isabel said as she slid off of him. "Time to play hero Thomas! This should be the first one~." Isabel said as she pointed to Termina with that smile again.

Hunter shivered as Isabel floated up to him holding onto him... well... technically not holding onto him, but if she had some sort of physical form she would be. Close enough. But her talk of an artifact being here in Termina, that changed Hunter's mind. He had to go there after all. A grin back on his face, all her talk about him being the hero really revved him up to go out there and kill some monsters "Alright, you've convinced me... we're going to Termina." Hunter spoke out with a good amount of confidence as he followed the screams "Any idea how we're gonna find it though? Seems like a big city..."

She decided to lead the way, ignoring the screams, but stopped when he asked where they might find it. "Silly Thomas... Remember it's part of me. I'll always have the basic idea where it might be, I'll... Just know. Like I know it's here... The closer we get to it, the more I know where it is, what it is, AND... Who might have it if it happens to be in someones possession." Isabel giggled before pausing for a moment. "Hmmm... I have feeling something REALLY good is going to happen when we find this object."

"Hmmmmm..." Carley looked around a little while longer. She got lost on her way to the next city, and was sitting down thinking about where to go. Sure, she was totally open for peeps to kill her, but she scared them off with her...optimism. "Puzzling...but awesome! I'm totally stoked about the next town!" she gasped. "Will I find...the one...there? EEEEEEEEEEE!" she squealed with excitement.

Hunter seemed to just start following Isabel as she lead the way, based off her talk about being able to sense the artifacts, it was better that way. He'd probably just lead them into another fight anyways, not that he minded that, but finding the artifacts was important too. It's just that the only reason he'd be going to a trash heap like Termina would be for the artifact, he could find better prey outside of this city. He rose an eyebrow when Isabel spoke of something good happening "Is that code for "we're gonna get to kill something soon"?" he asked "Because it seems that you guys here have a pretty big thing for that... not that I mind, these long walks have been boring me lately. I can't wait till I find some big dangerous Horror! That's when I'll be happy... heh..."

Isabel twirled around in the air as they got closer to Termina. Isabel however paused for a moment. She squinted and saw someone with blond hair in the distance. "Hmmm... That doesn't look like a Horror." she said as she went behind Thomas, and held onto his hand, chilling him. "But it certainly looks interesting... Especially the noises it makes."

I've learned the hard way that silence is always more painful than words ever could hope to be.
Eythan looked at the sky, halfheartedly trying to spot any familiar stars, or any at all. He smiled grimly as he found none. It was amazing how literally the phrase "black of night" applied to this world. It made how he'd portrayed a scene like this in his own stories seem child friendly. Eythan looked around him as he thought this. Even if he did manage to spot something and they attacked, without help, he doubted he'd last too long, but it still made him feel better to look.
Eythan had spotted a skyline in the distance. Judging from the noises he could hear in the distance, it had fallen into a similar state as the rest of this world. The last time, he'd stopped in a city he'd managed to gather a bit of information, enough that he knew a few city names. It seemed like there was still seemingly one safe place left. Though there hadn't been a lot of information on this place, which struck Eythan as a bit odd.
He eyed the city, contemplating whether or not it would be wise to go there.

Cyrus ran over to one of the alleyways as he hid behind some trashcans. He looked over to make sure that no one was following him as he sighed in relief. "Phew. No one has realized that I'm in this area...yet." The area Necrollica, a dangerous area for a human as one false move can cost him his life. Cyrus hopes no one has spotted him yet.
"What's wrong Cyruuuuuus? Afraiiiiiiid of us?" A voice came out behind him as he soon felt himself getting tackled to the ground.
"Ah!" Cyrus yelped out as he felt himself landing on the ground as he looked up to see who his attacker was. His fearful eyes went to scared puppy dog eyes as he realized who attacked him. "Iris! That's not funny! You know that anything around here scares the heeby jeebies out of me!"
Iris cried out in laughter as she motioned her hand to wipe away fake tears. "Oh I'm so sorry Cyrus. I know how dangerous it is for you to be here. But you knoooooooow I can't heeeelp myself." She had an innocent face on as Cyrus blushed and looked away as her stomach started to growl. "Oh Cyyyyyyyyrus I'm huuuuungryyyyyy~"
"U-Um c-can we please not do this....ummmm..." Cyrus tried to get up and run, but Iris stopped him in his tracks as her arms made sure that her captor wouldn't escape.
"Teehee. Time to feed~"
Cyrus began crying to himself as Iris started to lick his cheek for her daily meal. "I hate my life..."

The first thing that Riley realized as she woke up was that this was most certainly not her bed. It was cold, hard, concrete, which was most definitely less comfortable than anything she had slept on ever. As she sat up, bleary from having been unconscious, the next thing she noticed was that she still had her bat in hand--and that she was still in her vigilante get up. At that realization, she looked around hastily, not wanting any of her family to see her like this--but she was most certainly not inside her house right now. She was in a strange city--and nothing at all looked familiar. This wasn't her hometown. This was some dark, dank place that she didn't recognize at all. After a moment, she stood up, pursing her lips as she looked around warily. How had she gotten here...? She could barely remember everything...it was all such a blur...
Slowly, she backed up out of the street and into an alleyway, leaning against the wall of one of the buildings and trying to think, trying to remember anything, anything of why she should be here. She remembered that she had been on her nightly patrol...but after that...nothing. Only vague blurs of some dream...
"What the hell is this...?" she murmured to herself, keeping her bat close at hand. She could figure out her way through this...she just had to stay calm...

Hunter shuddered, this constant phasing through him was starting to get unnerving. He'd have to talk about Isabel later about that, because it definitely wasn't right, you know? Though her getting stronger with the artifacts was intriguing, very much so, if she was more powerful, than so was he. It worked out for the both of them "Sounds cool to me..." he responded to her as he kept walking, only to come to a stop as Isabel brought the blonde to his attention. As she stated it didn't look like a horror... he was already pulling out a handgun "We don't know for sure-" he answered happily as a grin appeared on his face when cocking his gun. Pointing it at the blonde, he suddenly called out "HEY BLONDY!" before firing a warning shot "HELLO!"

Carley flinched and fell out of the tree when the shot was fired.
"Ow! Hey!" she got up and turned around. "That wasn't very nice!" she puffed up her cheeks. "Saaaaay..." she looked at the gun a little closer. "Is that a Semi-Automatic Desert Eagle? Or a Mauser? I can't tell from here!" she said, taking a step closer. Yeah, girl who fell out of a tree and then knew a lot about guns, totally forgetting about the warning shot. Totally normal.

Wow, so that was fun. Corpse Carnival stood over the corpse of some poor mutant that happened to exist in the same place as him, thus it was pretty much going to die. And so it was, in a puddle of its own blood, standing at the behest of the slasher "Wow, so that was fun-" I already said that "Shut up you-" hey, don't talk to the inner monologue! "Pft... fine..." Corpse Carnival let out a sigh as the moron walked out from the abandoned building he was occupying, instead going where the plot demanded of him "HEY- I'm not a moron- but, yeah... whatever... I guess I'll listen to you this time..." as the Slasher walked out into the streets, he looked around. Termina was, really, a boring city, with weak preys, not even a survival girl in sight, nor another vicious Horror to do combat with. He was contemplating leaving until, he, in fact, saw someone of interest to him down an alley. She was short, at least compared to Corpse, holding a baseball bat, and had the most peculiar of hats. Now Corpse Carnival didn't wear hats, because his hair is retarded that way "...!" but he still wanted it. Corpse Carnival then stood there, narrowed eyes looking off in the distance as he showed an expression of annoyance for the descriptions in this post which manifest themselves as voices in his head. However, his annoyance only went so far as he began to realize that it would be fun killing that girl. He's just fucked up that way. So the masked maniac grabbed a cleaver he had on himself at the moment and began to slowly walk behind her. Brandishing his blade, he slowly crept up on her "..." he tried his best to keep his focus on the hunt as the voices continued in his head. He then slowly rose the cleaver upwards, then- "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" he screamed like a maniac... instead of sneaking up on her and quickly putting this to an end he screamed like a lunatic... then stood there, apparently, because he wasn't the brightest Horror in Terra Mortis.

Hunter rose an eyebrow as the blonde seemed to react in a less than terrified way. Perhaps Hunter was born to live in Terra Mortis, because he really didn't like it when he tried to be scary and no one found him terrifying. He had a dumbfound expression on his face as she got closer, he then shrugged as he figured that was a good enough excuse for him to instigate more violence "She didn't take the warning Isabel! Totally a Horror!" he then tossed the gun away and pulled out his hatchet, because it was more fun that way. He lunged at her with the sole intent at tackling her to the ground.

Riley had actually been doing a pretty good job of calming herself down--up until she suddenly heard maniacal laughter from behind her. She literally jumped, startled, and quickly whirled around, backing up away from Corpse. She stared at his face, pointing her bat at him in what she hoped was a threatening manner--then just sort of stared at him for a while. His face was...really not very pretty. She was trying to think of what to say--until she finally managed to speak--
"Y--You! What the hell are you doing, sneaking up behind people and jump-scaring them?! Covered in blood, no less, sheesh!" Riley was pretty sure that this guy was just some loser in a costume that went around jump-scaring people because he thought it was funny. That was totally the only explanation--right--? "You know, it's NOT fucking funny! You must think you're big shit, right?! W-Well, you're not, that's just not cool! Geez..." She lowered her bat again, scowling at Corpse and crossing her arms. "Man...I wake up in some weird place and the first person I run into is this creep...well, here's a pointer--touch up on your costume. The blood looks really bogus." She really had no idea what she was getting into here.

Carnival's eyes widened as he paused for a moment, not quite happy that she wasn't running away "Uhm..." he spoke, awkwardly just standing there with his cleaver raised "Stab...?" he asked before suddenly swinging the cleaver down on her shoulder. Hey- that's not a stab! Are you fucking retarded!? "DON'T JUDGE ME OKAY!? YOU KNOW MY NAME NOT MY STORY!" Corpse Carnival yelled out right after the yell in retaliation to the voices in his head.

But when the Blond fell out of the tree she was all Miss Sunshine and asking when type of gun it was. "Then do what you do best, and lets continue to Termina." Isabel said with a grin when the hatchet was pulled out, and she disappeared for a moment. "Typical... But If she's not a Horror... Then what IS she?" Isabel whispered into Thomas's ear as she stayed out of sight. She didn't want to be seen yet by this 'Model'. She had no idea what a model was... But it sounded weird.
