Nao sat in the back seat looking outside the window and watching as the surrounding passed by.  Outside was really big wasn't it?  Eventually the spanning desert gave way to a much different looking place.  He stared at the new surroundings in awe as the car finally came to a stop.  He hopped out of the car after Bunny and Lukas making sure to bring the stuffed bear with him now that he could no longer keep it with his bike now that he had destroyed it.  He would have to take another one sometime.  He looked back and forth between Lukas and Bunny before directing his attention to the man in front of them.  Then realization hit him and he tugged Bunny's arm, "I forgot the candy bar you gave me!" he looked worried and apologetic.  He remembered that he left it in a pouch on his bike so it was probably destroyed now.  Then he covered his head with his mittens like he was expecting to get smacked for it.

Jackal lit himself a cigarette as he spoke "That's cuz we're not really in the Wild West anymore, darlin'..." he spoke, looking out to a particularly open space of swamp water. Slipping a hand into his pocket, he looked out to his body of water as he continued to speak "We're just a few miles away from the Golden Road is all... anyways, no, we're going to talk HERE!" Jackal brought both his arms up triumphantly as the entire swamp shook, before an entire building rose from the swamp water. "MEANWHILE, AT THE LEGION OF DOOM! KYAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" he laughed madly as Meanwhile rose from the swamp water, soon, a metal bridge came out from it to lead them to its entrance. Jackal, of course, started to waddle down the bridge motioning for the others to follow. As he waddled down the bridge, he spoke "Let me reintroduce myself... I'm The Inquisitor, otherwise known as the Zombie Princess and one half of The Alliance's leadership...!" he proudly told the three as a few Frogman footman exited the building to escort them. They looked like henchmen out of a Saturday morning cartoon "My partner is... busy right now... anyways, we're looking for something call The Branches of Sin... we've already got one of em'... it's said that if you collect all four pieces, you'll know how to kill him... Cain. You understanding my English here, ya swags?" he turned back to them, tilting his head to the side. He heard Nao talk about how he lost a candy bar. He didn't really understand the whole thing but he figured the boy was sad because he lost some candy. Luckily for Jackal he ALWAYS held an excess amount of candy on him. So the blonde pulled a lolipop from his left pocket and handed it to Nao "Don't be sad little boy! Here! Have some candy!"

Lukas remained quiet as Bunny and Jackal spoke--raising his eyebrows a bit as Meanwhile rose up out of the swamp. He walked in along with the others, clicking on his car keys to make sure his car was locked, then following the others in--almost bumping into one of the frogmen and seeming very confused by their appearance. And he'd thought that he was strange--this place just took the cake. Still, the talk of Cain caught his attention, though--that man was infamous, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in the Wild West who didn't want the man dead. He expressed interest by keeping focus on Jackal as Bunny asked what the Branch of Sin said--any piece of information about Cain could be useful.

It was at this moment--before the entrance to the base actually closed up--that footsteps could be heard--many footsteps, in fact. And it was then that Rook rode into view--riding on top of an emu. A killer emu, to be exact. And behind him were several more killer emus. Upon closer inspection, Rook had actually dozed off on top of said emu, however, once the emu--Brunhilda--got to the entrance, Rook was jostled a bit and ended up waking up from his snooze. He blinked a few times, then led the group of emus into the entrance to the base before it lowered back down into the swamp. He paused for a moment, then adjusted his glasses, and looked down the entry hall at Jackal, Bunny, Lukas, and Nao. After a moment, he called to Jackal,
"Boss, we found killer birds. Can we keep them?"

Nao looked away from Bunny at the sound of the building rising from the water and watched in awe as it revealed itself.  Then he looked curiously at the sight of the big frog people.  His attention was redirected when Jackal spoke to him.  He blinked in surprise when the man handed him a piece of candy to replace the one he lost.  He glanced at Bunny when she told him to thank the man.  He turned back to him and smiled, "Thank you!" he said happily before tearing the wrapper open and putting the lollipop in his mouth as he felt Bunny pet his head.  Then he continued to follow along with the group as they were led further inside.

Jackal let out a small giggle upon hearing Bunny's words "Well I'm the new Inquisitor now. And my partner. I'm also The Mistress. And my partner. And dully noted." he replied to her before waddling deeper into Meanwhile. Of course he made sure to bow courteously to Nao as he was thanked "You're welcome, man!" he replied enthusiastically. And then Rook showed up... with lots and lots of Emus. Jackal didn't even remotely find this odd, as he simply waved with his typical smile "What's up?" he spoke in a casual voice, not even bothering to explain this sight or this man to their visitors "Of course! They will be a valuable asset to our organization!" he told Rook when questioned on the emus. He then looked to Bunny, Nao, and Smile and simply said "We work together. We're all friends here." and then he continued forward. As they walked deeper into Meanwhile, they would be greeted with the sight of their footmen, their laboratories, and various other rooms and sights that would show a very professional side to wherever they are. This was a serious criminal enterprise, not even Vulture Team was this organized and professional, hell, not even their enemies were. They looked more like Cobra or Hydra than a gang of thugs. Eventually they came across a big metal door and turned back to Bunny and the others "MY FRIENDS!... and Bunny. I would like to offer you some rooming and food... you may leave whenever you like, but consider staying at my crib for a while, ya hear? I actually need to talk to you guys about some stuff, and it's pretty important."

As the newcomer entered with all of the birds, Lukas figured that it was probably in his best interest to ignore the sudden horde of killer emus. Rather, as he followed along with the rest of the group, he took a look around at the areas they moved through. This place seemed very....prepared. For most anything, hnestly. They could be good allies--and horrible enemies, if something like that came to pass. When they at last came to a stop and Jackal mentioned that he wanted to talk with them about a few things, Lukas finally spoke up, asking,
"Vould zhat important stuff have anyzhing to do vith vhat just vent down at zhe shore...? Or general concerns about zhe shitty state of everyzhing right now...?" And then Bunny asked if they would be alright with staying a while like Jackal suggested, and Lukas thought for a moment. He felt a bit uneasy about this--he didn't want to rope himself into anything that might put him in opposition against his friends elsewhere...however, he felt a pang of annoyance strike him when he was reminded that Jasper and Eagle went galavanting off somewhere together without so much as a word to him (besides a few drunk texts--), anyway. So, he should be plenty allowed to take some time off here if he wanted, he figured. He knew he was being just a tad spiteful--but he wouldn't let himself get too involved if things got complicated. Right now, he needed a rest anyway. "I vouldn't mind taking some time off."

"I learned that these birds like candy--or at least they just like eating in general--like, a lot--" Rook replied to Jackal when the man asked him what was up. He patted the head of the emu he was seated on, riding forward a little bit to join the group, following them along down the hall and letting the footmen lead off the rest of the emus. Rook seemed to doze off on the emu's back as they went down the hall, but when the group came to a stop, he awoke, looking around and seeming a bit disoriented, but not seeming to mind it much as he pulled a packet of gummy candy from his jacket pocket and began eating a few of them. He seemed pretty chill with his general situation--as per usual. He was kind of enjoying the colors that the voices of the new people were making in his vision--honestly, that was what he liked best about meeting new people. Everyone's voices looked different. However, due to this he didn't realize that he was kind of just sitting on an emu at the back of the group staring at them and slowly munching on candy. Oh well--

Jack reentered meanwhile, also accompanied by an emu. The makeshift harness now back to holding the front of her corset in place. She'd assumed Rook had handled the explanations about their newly acquired pets. If not, they certainly made for an interesting sight. Not that she suspected it would phase Jackal. The man always had taken most oddities in stride.
Though the newcomers made for something of an interesting sight. Jack took them in with a calm smile. Judging from the few disconnected phrases she'd heard so far, it seemed as if these guests would be staying with them. That was certainly an interesting prospect.She half nodded in Jackals direction, smiling calmly at the man.  
It seems you've been busy while we were away. Hopefully we didn't miss all of the fun.

Seriously, Emu's were dumb flightless birds that ate and slept with their fucking heads in the ground...maybe she was mixing up birds, but she didn't care. She was worn out. "Nao, you say thank you, yah hear?"  she said and then turned toward a familiar voice. It SOUNDED like Jack, her old friend from Vulture Team, but the woman before her was...anything but.  "I'm sorry...uh...do I know yah? You sound familiar..."she said, raising an eyebrow a bit as she addressed Jack.

"Rook, I don't think that's very healthy for them-" Jackal replied to the man, apparently very seriously He took Emu health VERY seriously. He could care less about human health, but damn it all if an animal got sick. He heard Bunny and Smile's replies and nodded to them in confirmation "I'll have the Frogmen fix a room for you-" he told them before lowering his sunglasses and making eye contact with Lukas. He took a good look into the guy's eyes before finally speaking "It's about your friends Eagle Douglas and Jasper Everhart." he told Smile bluntly, and then he looked to Bunny "As for you, The Church of Crime isn't just active... so is Poison." Jackal hoped that he could show them the serious nature of what he wanted to talk about. The Branches of Sin were vital to all their lives, he needed their full cooperation if he was going to win this battle with Cain. Of course, Jackal knew attacking Cain head-on was suicide... so his battle would not be one of violence, but of minds.

Lukas didn't recognize any of the newcomers--although apparently Bunny recognized at least one of them. He decided to leave that to Bunny to deal with--and he looked to Jackal, listening to him speak again--and raising his eyebrows when he heard Eagle and Jasper mentioned precisely by name. That was...so this guy knew who he was? Or was he just aware that he was associated with the two of them? And as if that didn't beg enough questions, then the Church of Crime came up again...Well, this begged too many questions to back out, now...
"Alright...lead zhe vay, zhen let's talk."

"Candy is good for everyone, though..." Rook whispered in response to Jackal's warning to him about emu health. "It's good for the soul--" He paused to let out a loud yawn, leaning forward on his emu and resting again a bit until Jack came in. He gave her a sleepy wave, quietly eating a bit more candy, waiting until Jackal was busy looking at Bunny and Lukas and taking the moment to quietly slip a candy bar into Brunhilda the Emu's mouth. The bird let out a loud squawk and messily devoured the candy as Rook withdrew his hand--but the bluenette was pretty sure that he was still being pretty sneaky about it. He didn't doubt Jackal's knowledge about emu health--but he also didn't doubt his own knowledge about candy. Definitely no questioning that.

She held her head as if she had a headache, and reached into her pocket, grabbing her precious bottle of pills. Thankfully, she had those with her, and not on the bike. She popped one, and then took a breath, starting to wind down. "I guess restin is gonna have to wait. We should chat bout this...now."  now, she wanted to know. Before it was rest and then talk. NOW, it was talk and then rest. She looked down at Nao for a moment, and then back at Jackal with a nod. As much as he didn't want to bring Nao into this...it looked like they were involved now.

As Timothy made an appearance, Jackal casually waved to the blind man "HI TIMMMMYYYY! Guys- this is Timmy. He's blind. That mean's he can't see-" after Jackal's riveting introduction, he then looked to Nao. As much as the kid seemed to be attached to Bunny, they needed to talk in private. Jackal motioned for Lukas and Bunny to follow as he looked to Timothy "Me and these two need to have a talk... in private, make sure the conversation stays private, yeah?" he told BLIND before walking into the room where he'd talk to Bunny and Lukas. Almost as soon as he walked into the room, he bluntly said "So, they're already here- the Church of Crime."

Lukas acknowledged the newcomer--and as Jackal said that they needed to talk in private, Lukas looked over to Nao, pausing for a moment before speaking to the small boy quietly,
"Ve'll...be back soon. Alright?" He wanted to reassure Nao that they'd be back soon--but he was still feeling apprehensive himself. About what this talk would entail, and about what Bunny and Nao thought about him after so much had been revealed about him on the beach--but there was no going back now. He turned, following Jackal into the room as the blonde led. He stopped as Jackal did, raising an eyebrow at the blonde's statement. "Here as in here, or here as in active in zhe area...?"

Rook had dozed off for a moment with a smile on his face as Jackal agreed with his candy logic--however, Timmy's reappearance woke him up again. He turned slightly, giving Timmy a wave as he blinked himself awake, rubbing at his eyes. He reached into the bag of candy he was holding, taking a whole handful and kind of just shoving them into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully and after a moment swallowing, pausing for around twenty seconds before he blinked a few times, seeming a bit more alert.
"I'm up--" he mumbled as a signifier that he was awake now. He saw Jackal walking off with Lukas and Bunny, then looked to Nao. He paused for a moment, then hopped down from his emu, digging into his pockets and pulling out two separate bags of candy, holding them both out in Nao's direction. One bag held gummy candies, and one bag held hard candies. "Which one do you like better? Do you want some?"

Nao smiled when Jackal said you're welcome.  He seemed nice.  He continued to follow along with the group.  It wasn't until now that he noticed all the giant birds in the room.  He stared at then until his attention was redirected by Jackal's announcement.  Then when Bunny asked if they wanted to stay here for awhile, he nodded in agreement.  It had been a really long time since he last slept in a bed.  It appeared that Lukas was okay with staying too.  His gaze trailed off to the man in blue with all the weird birds.  His wide eyes stared at him and the birds again.  His eyes flicked to the side as a lady with silver hair entered.  This is when Bunny's voice called out to him, "Thank you!" he chimed obediently not sure who it was supposed to be directed to.  He continued to look around some more as the other talked to one another.  He just stood there rocking on his heels and humming to himself.  He blinked and looked up when Jackal introduced another man named Timmy.  Timmy couldn't see?  He became curious.  But then Lukas turned to him.  They had to go?  "Mkay," he nodded, "I can wait for you," his tone was uncharacteristically serious and distant, "I can wait."  He stood in place as he watched Lukas and Bunny go.

Nao jumped a little a moved away when the man in blue landed next to him.  He stared for a moment before realizing that he was offering him some candy.  He smiled then took the bag of hard candies, "This one," he replied now holding it in his black and white hands.  "Thank you," stated as he remembered Bunny instructing his to do earlier.  He would start eating the candies now but he still had the lollipop Jackal gave him in his mouth.

At Bunny's response, Jack smiled, eyeing her now white hair in amusement. She supposed she did look quite different compared to the last time she'd seen the woman. Well, at least Bunny still seemed to recognize her voice. If she hadn't, that would have made this a touch more interesting.   
Well, I suppose I do look different now. I would hope you'd remember me, after all the time we spent in Vulture together. It's Doctor Jack, Deary.
Jack smiled at the woman. Her pupils narrowing as she focused on Jackals words. So the Church of Crime was at large. Now that was interesting news indeed. Her own experiences with the groups leader had definitely left her with a-fascinating interest in the group. At Timmys arrival, Jack gave the boy a small nod. She leaned against her emu, stroking it with her non-clawed hand.
After one short look at the room where Jackal would be having his private conversation, She shot a smile in Bunnys direction before turning to look between her teammates and the boy that had accompanied her.

The Church of Crime was here...and they were active. Bunny looked down and sighed, knowing the emotions behind that name. Being alone, limbless...in a church basement wishing to die. And then Chelsea... "Damn it, we need to stop them. And we need to do that now!" she said with a hushed angry tone.

Jackal replied to Smile in a solemn voice "They have creatures known as Blackbloods... it's basically a virus that turns you into a raving monster... but it can lie dormant for months... possibly years, and be activated by Cain whenever he wills it... anyone here, including ourselves, could be Blackbloods, and we wouldn't even know it." he told Smile with a straight face, making it apparent that he wasn't just messing with Lukas. This was the grim truth. To face Cain was more than dealing with a superhuman. This wasn't the same as fighting Mario or Kraven, the enemies they would have faced in No Man's land paled in comparison to what they were dealing with now. Once it was apparent that Bunny was getting emotional, Jackal wanted her to NOT be emotional so he said things "CALM YOUR MAMMARY GLANDS WOMAN! Getting all worked up is pointless... " he needed calm, logical minds right now. She had all the reasons to hate them, more so than most, but they couldn't afford that kind of anger right now "Listen... it's pointless to fight Cain head on... furthermore... he has two agents known as Poison and Rose whom are also not too far out of his league... dealing with the Church head on is suicide... even The Ministry tried to fight them and failed to even injure any of them... and I hate to say it, but... Kraven's got more resources and power than any of us do... The Alliance is still small..." shaking his head, Jackal let out a sigh as he leaned back on his chair "NOWHERE and The Ministry are working together on this... and my informants tell me they've discovered a way to beat Cain... these so-called Branches of Sin... The Inquisitor left them around, and they apparently hold the key to killing Cain. They have one of the four... and I have one too... I'm sure you can all see where this is going-" then, looking to Smile, Jackal then told him "Rommel and Jasper are with them too... they joined up with Jo not too long ago- I guess they're bros now..." rising from his chair, Jackal jumped up from it and squat on the table. He just kinda kept speaking to them in that position... for some reason "Unfortunately Cain isn't our only problem... Paladin..."

Bunny sighed and closed her eyes to listen. He was right...getting angry would only make things worse. Though recently, that's all she got WAS angry. She couldn't believe they were active again. She didn't really know about Black Bloods, but if they were...as he said...they were dangerous...very...VERY dangerous. This whole situation was getting dangerous. "Poison and...R-rose? Rose...that was the name of her old friend...the one who died when Poison killed her...could...that be the same Rose? That was impossible...was it? "So...you're saying that these branches of sin things...they're the only way to take down Cain? And you have one?"she asked, trying to get the facts straight.

Quietly, Lukas noted that Bunny seemed quite emotional when it came to the Church of Crime--they must have wronged her at some point in the past, or something along those lines. He listened to Jackal with a straight, neutral expression-although the idea of the Blackbloods was quite scary--things like that didn't tend to fluster him much. Just another horrible, gorey mess...nothing out of the ordinary. What did seem to bother him the slightest bit, however, was when Jasper ad Eagle were mentioned again, and he was reminded of how they had joined up with Jo. His eyebrow twitched ever so slightly as he thought about it--he knew that they probably didn't mean anything by it. But receiving no more notice about it than a drunk text from Eagle was...concering, at the very least. As one who had only somewhat recently embraced making actual bonds with people--he was quite paranoid about people leaving him in the dust, to be honest. He let Bunny speak in response first, then added on,
"And I'm guessing zhat it's going to become a race to see who can get zheir hands on zhe Branches first? Or even a contest to see who can steal zhem from zhe ozher factions..." The thing that caught him off-guard, though, was the mention of Paladin. It wasn't exactly a corporation he was very fond of--not after what had happened. "...Paladin? Vhat, are zhey trying to get a hand in zhis mess, too? Aside from zheir usual..."

Rook smiled and nodded to Nao when he thanked him, then straightened up a bit and looked over to Jack when she commented on how prepared he seemed.
"Oh, I'm always prepared. See..." He proceeded to pull out several bags of candy from his pockets, far more than should have fit in there normally, showing them to everyone. "This isn't even a fourth of it all." He put the candy away again, but before he put away the last bag, he heard Timmy's request, and replied, "Ah--sure. Do you want any certain flavor? I've got like...everything. Literally." He stifled a yawn, shifting a bit where he stood.
