Noboru uses his mecha, the Unit EXOSTRATO-01, otherwise known as F.R.E.E, to fight. He pilots from a cockpit that is located inside the head of the mecha. The mecha itself is fairly large-sized, and packs both weapons in large canons and energy blades. The mecha has two modes--"ID," which focuses on attack strength and attack frequency, and "Superego," which focuses on defense and speed. The pilot needs to switch the mecha between modes. The mecha's weapons will differ in the different modes--ID uses the energy blades, while Superego uses the canons. The mecha is plated with a good amount of armor, and it would take quite a blow to penetrate it. The pilot himself, Noboru, while outside of the mecha, can defend himself to a certain degree--he knows a little bit of hand-to-hand combat--just a little bit. And he's not even very good at it, either.

Weakness:
-While Noboru is a very good pilot, he's really not very good at fighting while outside of the mecha. He's far more useful in a fight when he's got the mecha around to pilot. On top of this, one of his greatest fears is being inside the mecha when the thing has been damaged to the point of not functioning--since that would pretty much mean that he would be defenseless, and vulnerable to being easily killed by the enemy.

-His temper often leads to him acting rashly in battle--which, as expected, isn't always the best thing. If not given forceful, additional guidance from his allies during these times, he might make a major screw-up, thanks to being somewhat blinded by his anger.

-Noboru is very hard on himself, especially when he fails at something--he strives to be the best that he can be, and will often go into fits of self-loathing whenever he messes up. When this happens, he throws himself into his work to try to make up for the failure--throws himself into his work so obsessively that sometimes he even forgets to eat or sleep. This is an issue that he keeps to himself--and it would take a lot of effort on somebody else's part to try to help him recover from it.

Personality:
In general, Noboru is laidback and carefree. He's very strongly driven in everything he does, and is very stubborn. He's not one to give up easily. He's daring, and a bit of a risk-taker, with kind of a short fuse when it comes to his temper. He doesn't take well to criticism. Everything he does, he does with 100% effort. He's got big dreams that he wants to live up to, and refuses to stop his ascent to those dreams. He's fiercely loyal to his friends, and would risk his life to defend them--though he's fairly sure in himself in that he wouldn't die. He's pretty confident with his piloting abilities, when it comes to his mecha. He's got a bit of a self-loathing issue due to his childhood, and it's something that he still deals with at present. At first impressions, Noboru can come off as a bit prickly, and has a tendency to lack tact--but he means well, at the very least. There are very few people that he's purposefully rude to. He tends to be a bit blunt, and seems to treat his friends much more kindly than strangers, without really meaning to. His stubbornness and his temper can sometimes lead to him making rash decisions when somebody sets his temper off. He really doesn't get sad often. He'll usually either be in a good mood, happy, or a bad mood--angry. He's a hard worker, and hates leaving a job halfway done--whether it's a fight or a mechanical repair, it's all the same to him: it's gotta be finished. He seems to avoid romantic relationships, and isn't one to initiate things. This is because he's awkward as hell when it comes to things like that--and really wouldn't know what to do in that kind of situation. This, however, doesn't mean that he wouldn't feel jealous and/or left out if he ever saw all of his friends pairing up--because he's just kind of weird that way.

Biography:
Noboru comes from a long line of pilots--his great-grandfather, his grandfather, and his father all piloted planes. Because of this, he's been immersed in aviation culture from a very young age. He's always found aviation of his great-grandfather's era to be the most fascinating, though. He wishes that he could try piloting a biplane--even if just once. However, those obviously aren't in production anymore, and finding one would be a miracle. Noboru grew up as an only child, living with his mother and his father. He was compared to his father by almost anyone he knew--and he was held up to the same standards that his father was held up to. That meant that, even when he accomplished something, it had simply been expected--there was no praise involved. However, when he got something wrong, there was severe disappointment involved. Because of this, he developed a tendency of self-loathing and high self-expectations, from a very young age. And as he grew older, the pressure to excel only grew worse. When he was younger, he was so absorbed in the work presented to him for his education, that he didn't find the time to make friends--however, after he finished at the very least a high-school level education, he moved out of the house, and got a job. He started out as a simple mechanic--as much as he wanted to pilot, he didn't have the license for it yet. He became quite skilled as a mechanic, and also began to actually make friends at work--which led him to branching out more, and eventually becoming much more outgoing, and eventually he developed the personality that he has now--much different than the introverted personality he had as a child. He worked hard at getting his piloting license, and when it came time for his final exam, he went far above and beyond any and all expectations. He was a natural--like he was born to be in the cockpit. At the end of his exam, he was approached by a man who was a representative of something known as Project EXO. Project EXO was a project that a scientific organization had started a few years prior, and had developed a kind of massively effective piloted weapon--a mecha. The representative had come to see the pilots' final exams to scout out the best of them--the one who would be able to pilot the new mecha that had just been developed, and had just finished being tested. It was all set to go and functional--all it needed was a proficient pilot. Once again, Noboru went above and beyond all expectations--it was like the mecha had been made for him. His piloting of it was perfect--all they had ever wanted in the project. Noboru has been piloting that mecha for a few years now, and Project EXO is in the process of developing new mechas, though it's been taking quite a while for them to finish anything. When Noboru finally returned home for a visit after having been gone for all of those years without warning--he found that his father had apparently died--from a heart attack. A heart attack caused by the stress of his son going missing without warning...And the death of his father had sent his mother spiraling down into despair--she just wasn't the same anymore...
Noboru made a vow that day--a vow that he would be a pilot that could emulate and live up to the greatness that his ancestors had possessed. He wanted to be just as good, if not better than his ancestors--and wanted to make them proud, wherever up in heaven they were! He's been working hard since then, piloting the mecha, and even having learned how to do repairs on it when it gets damaged.

Notes:
-The pilot outfit that he wears is a hand-me-down. It was the uniform that his great-grandfather used during a war a long, long time ago. He loves the outfit, and just thinks that it's like--the coolest thing ever. He even patches it up whenever it gets ripped or anything, since it's become a bit delicate with age.

-He finds aviation of the mid-1900s to be very fascinating. It almost seems as if he was born into the wrong era--he finds things back then to be a lot more interesting--but that might just be because the times were romanticized by the stories he was told by his family. He has a framed black and white photo of his great-grandfather with his biplane--he keeps it in his bedroom, and is very careful with it.

-He really can't cook worth shit. He can try--but whatever he makes will probably end up disgusting and/or horrifying to look at.

-On the subject of food, he really likes eating. He's got a huge appetite. He especially likes meat--pork is his favorite kind. He works out daily in order to keep in shape--since he knows that he eats a lot. And with this daily routine, he can eat as much as he wants and still keep that fabulous muscle tone that nobody ever sees under his aviator outfit.

-At times, he'll talk to his mecha as if it was a real person. The mecha doesn't answer back of course, and he knows that plenty well--but, he has a certain degree of affection for the machine. He sees it like a good friend.

Powers/Fighting Style: Venomous bite and venomous nails (venom temporarily paralyses the victim once it gets into their bloodstream), tough skin; Mei fights with quick but strong blows, aiming to tire her opponent and avoid stronger hits to herself.

Weakness: Religious magic, specifically lightning-related. She's also terrified of storms...

Personality: Mei is mischievous and often forgets to act serious when she should. She'll make inappropriate jokes and comments at the worst times, getting herself into trouble regularly, and is also quick to switch sides when offered a better deal. The playful exterior may be hiding a much darker aspect of her personality, which she rarely shows, unless confronted with her family.

Biography: Mei was born to the original Hebi (snake yokai/demon) clan, being a daughter of Yamata no Orochi, the Eight-Forked Serpent himself. She was the last of Orichi's children before he was slain by Susanoo, the storm god, and so was brought up by her older siblings, who taught her the importance of keeping the Hebi lineage alive. Unfortunately, she was the one rebellious daughter that did not want to follow the path of her siblings, she didn't want to live with the sole purpose of keeping the Hebi clan alive in the hopes of breeding a warrior that could avenge her father's death, and because of this was shunned by her family. The young yokai continued to live with her family for a while out of fear of facing the dangers outside of the clan, but when a great storm struck, causing fear and chaos, Mei took her chance and fled, terrified of the thunder, lighting and hail, but determined to overcome this and not remain the sheltered and bitter creature that so many of her other family members had turned into.
Mei set out to become the warrior that would destroy Susanoo, but the god was skilled in fighting her kind, and she soon learned that training in the ways of the yokai would not be enough. This is what finally got her to explore the human world, wanting to learn the mortals' ways as she had not dared to before. She did, however, realize that yokai were not welcomed by the humans, so she adopted a human form, but her presence always seemed disconcerting to humans, making them suspicious of her to the point that one young man almost discovered what she really was, so she joined the organization that would best hide her demonic core: the church.
It was not as difficult as one would think for Mei to gain trust, as she did have a way with words, and seemed great at hiding her demonic nature, at least at first. Once she was accepted as a human priestess, she allowed herself to show a typical trait of her kind: mischief. The yokai played pranks on the monks and other priestesses, becoming infamous for her less-than-exemplary behavior, though she always pretended to be a good little priestess when she got into too much trouble. Only outside of the church did she show how little she cared about religion, often making fun of her church and doing some not-so-holy things. On one of her midnight alcohol-raids, she stumbled upon an innkeeper who had a mind to kill her for stealing his whiskey, until she started speaking to him and he fell in love with her. Mei took advantage of this, getting him to offer her a job as a bartender, and she began to spend plenty of time in this job, which her buddies at the church never found out about because she always made up some story that no one believed, but no one cared enough about to actually look into.
Mei slowly grew fond of humans, but became...lazy. She almost forgot about her initial goal: to learn from the humans so she could avenge her father, and constantly put off doing research and training the unfamiliar fighting style of the humans. The Hebi often has nightmares of her father's death, which, to her horror, she witnessed as a young yokai, which remind her of the reason she came to the humans in the first place, but...alcohol and trickery are just so much more appealing than fighting uber-powerful storm gods...

Powers/Fighting Style: He traces words with his finger or an object, and they can hit or tie up people. Streams of words can we used for more damage.
If all else fails, he does have a pistol, but doesn't know how to use it.

Weakness: Max has a weak heart, meaning that he has a history of physical heart problems. If he over does himself, his heart will beat irregularly, and causes extreme pain. Because of this, he can't do long battles, or let's people fight for him. Doctors fear he won't make it if he goes into open heart, so they've never attempted.

Personality: Max is a bit of an asshole, though he has a kind heart. He's super smart and mature for his age, and doesn't tolerate people acting or being stupid around him.

Biography: Maximilien Talorre, born in a wealthy family, had absolutely nothing wrong with him. He was a perfect child, after having manners and etiquette hammered into his brain. He was extremely talented in solving puzzles, music, and his studies, but wasn't at all very good when it came to physical activities. He tried his hand at Archery and failed in such an epic way, he almost killed a man. He tried fencing and was decent, but stopped, because of his heart problems. This was the same result when he tried Polo as well.
Max has a terrible heart, and not because he's sort of a dick. Part of his heart was missing in the womb, and in an attempt to reform itself, it created an odd sort of lump around the aeorta. This lump hits the right ventricle when his heart beats too fast, and causes extreme pain for him, thus he doesn't do many physical things. However, to compensate for his downfall, he studied his mind to become a tactics master. He can see the flaws in peoples forms, he can plan ahead 6 moves in front of the enemy, his mind is unshakable.
Though the company Togami Industries was promised to him as a child, the executives of the company didn't feel comfortable with him being the boss, and thus tried to overthrow the company and buy it out. They almost did, until one day they found that all the money they saved up suddenly went to charity to help orphans with schooling, and Max had a good bit of money saved. Turns out, he knew about the plot from the beginning, he just didn't care enough to freak out about it. He made the nesscessary plans for it, and then bided his time to spring it, all the while raising money his own way, running a club at school to pay for it. It worked, and he became the CEO, taking control even before his family said he could. However, seeing as he took down the plot to have it bought out, they let him run it, and it's been going well.

Powers/Fighting Style: Hikari grows wings made of ethereal energy, which increases speed and  can be used to cloak herself in the wings to increase stealth. She conjures a shaolin spade with blade made of moonstone, which is used for attack and defense. She can control energy orbs that stop the time of whatever is trapped inside, and has a minor ability to emphasize someone's negative emotions. This is often used to gain more energy in fight. She can fight without it but more powerful with it. Hikari in her regular form can focus in on and read negative emotions and locate the people experiencing them. She has learned over time how to somewhat competently handle herself in a fight, but is not that proficient at it.

Weakness: Her personality change when she transforms into her magical girl form , resulting in an almost fear of using her powers at all and there is a chance of her losing control. Hikari's Magical girl personality has a lack of control that Hikari is terrified of letting out and potentially hurting  innocent people.

Personality: serious, quiet, intelligent, lonely, and perceptive. When transformed fast, witty, cruel, playful, not sadistic but not very serious or caring about hurting people. Hikari is deeply caring and protective of people but will often try to drive people away as a means of protecting them. If people are able to get close to her she keeps them particularly close. She is quite mature and experienced despite how young she is.

Biography: Hikari was born to a family is a small town that had been home to a large amount of damage. From a young age, Hikari could feel the negative emotions surrounding her home. This developed into an ability to focus in on negative emotions and the people experiencing them, this is the one ability she can use in her regular form. Over this constant bombarding of negative energy creating her magical girl persona. She was aware of it but became more afraid over time as her magical girl half grew more powerful and she became able to notice the difference in personality. Her family, her parents and three siblings, were understanding and still welcomed her to stay but Hikari left the town so she would be sure she wouldn't accidently hurt them. She travels from town to town. Being naturally smart she is able to learn quickly from her experiences in the various towns she occupies. Despite her short stays in any given place she learned to drive people away out of caring and protection from her magical girl persona, still wanting friends however. She is currently staying in one place to finish her education and has taken a temporary job at a small bookstore. She may try and grow roots in one place if she becomes attached enough to the place and people around her.

Notes: Hikari wears a red ribbon that belonged to her siblings at one point. Black and purple were the colors on her families crest as most of her family has either black or purple eyes. As a result of this she will constantly wear one of the two colors.
